Public Accounts Committee visits various developmental projects

Public Accounts Committee of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly led by MLA Shamima Firdous which is on a five day visit to Ladakh region today visited various places of Kargil town.

She was accompanied by MLA Mushtaq Ahmed Shah and MLA Muhammad Yousuf Shah.

They visited Iqbal Mini Hydel Project, Puraeg Guest House and Munshi Aziz Bhat Museum.

MD JKPDC Dr Shah Faisal informed the committee that there is huge scope potential available for producing 4500 megawatt electricity.

The Committee today assured that they will take up the issue of completion of Srinagar- Kargil transmission line and improving the electricity system in the Kargil with concerned authorities.

During the visit of Munshi Aziz Bhat, the committee asked for improving the tourism infrastructure in the area.

Members also visited Puraeg Guest House and took stock of various facilities available for tourists there.
