Div Com for effective traffic decongestion measures
Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan Monday convened a meeting to review traffic decongestion measures being undertaken across the Valley.
Additional Commissioner Kashmir, Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, VC SDA, Commissioner SMC, Deputy Director JKSRTC, Deputy Director Planning and other concerned officials were present in the meeting whereas all Deputy Commissioners of all Valley districts participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
No horn zones around hospitals and educational institutions, installation of traffic signage, notified parking areas, no parking zones and removal of encroachment along the roads was discussed threadbare in the meeting.
Khan directed all Deputy Commissioners to ensure implementation of traffic decongestion measures in letter and spirit in their respective districts.
He also directed the SMC to intensify drive for the removal of road side vendors and relocate them to identified locations.
Div Com asked the concerned officers to ensure bottlenecks, if any, are immediately cleared so that traffic de-congestion measures are implemented smoothly in capital Srinagar and as well as across the Valley.
