In wake of the separatists announcement to court arrest at NIA headquarters in New Delhi, authorities fearing protests have imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar city as a precautionary measure.

Restrictions have been imposed areas including  Khanyar, Rainawari, MR Gunj, Nowhatta and Safakadal.

The restrictions have been imposed to thwart any protests as the Hurriyat leaders comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Yasin Malik are planning to visit Delhi to court arrest at NIA headquarters against NIA raids on leaders and businessmen for allegedly funding and creating unrest in the Valley.

Meanwhile JKLF chairman Yaseen Malik was again detained last night from his residence ahead of his Delhi visit.

Pertinently, authorities had yesterday announced that the Hurriyat leaders will be allowed to proceed to Delhi.

“We will allow them to proceed wherever they want to go,” Director General of Police, Dr S P Vaid had  said.
