Rajnath Singh arrives in Srinagar, meets Mehbooba

In the first leg of his four-day visit, union home minister Rajnath Singh today met Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti here in Srinagar.

Earlier, Singh arrived in summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir and was received by the deputy chief Minister Nirmal Sigh at Srinagar Airport.

“I am going there with an open mind and I am willing to meet anyone who will help us in finding solutions to problems facing J&K,” Singh tweeted earlier.

The Home Minister will hold talks Governor N.N. Vohra. During his visit.

Singh will visit Jammu and Srinagar and meet civil society members, leaders of political and social organisations, business leaders and others, a government official said.

Rajnath Singh had earlier said that a solution to the Kashmir problem will be found before 2022.

Rajnath Singh’s visit comes after Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15 August said his government was committed to bring back the “lost glory” of Kashmir.
