Massive search operation in south Kashmir

Government forces on Saturday cordoned off  over half dozen villages and vast orchards of Shopian and Kulgam districts in south Kashmir.

Police sources said that  Army’s 62 RR, 9RR, CRPF and SOG early today launched a massive Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in a vast area.

Search operation was launched after receiving specific inputs about the presence of militants in the area, police sources added.

As per sources, the villages which are under siege  include Kader, Dadarkot, Akhipur, Khee Jogipura, Avhotu, Renipura, Khassipora, Zaipura, Trenz, Mohanpora, Khurampora  villages and adjacent areas of twin districts of south Kashmir.

Similar search operations were launched on May 4, August 19, August 28,  September 5, however all these operation  ended peacefully.

As per sources, door to door search was going on  in the area.
