NIA raids Hurriyat (G) leader Sumji’s Bijbehara residence

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday raided the residence of Hurriyat conference (G) General Secretary Ghulam Nabi Sumji in south Kashmir’s Bijbihara, sources said.

According to sources  a team of NIA alongwith a contingent of police and other forces raided the residence of Sumji and started searches.

Earlier NIA raided at least nine locations across the four districts in Kashmir valley including the residence of Hurriyat  (G) leader Agha Syed Hassan in Central Kashmir’s district Budgam.

Sources said that the investigation agency is also conducting searches in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.

The NIA raids on the residence of Sumji and Agha followed the announcement of resistance leaders to court arrest at NIA headquarters at New Delhi.

Seven pro-freedom leaders, a businessman and two youth including a photojournalist have already been arrested by the Indian investigation agency in connection of the case.

Yesterday NIA had raided at least eleven locations across Kashmir and five locations in Delhi as part of its probe into the alleged terror funding to fuel the unrest  in Kashmir valley.
