Kangan continues protest slow pace of Aadhar enrolment

The residents of several areas of Kangan in Ganderbal district on Wednesday held a protest demonstration against the slow pace of Aadhar enrolment. 

Reports said that scores of people held a protest demonstration outside the office of Sub Divisional Magistrate Kangan complaining that they were facing hardships in getting the aadhar cards due to official apathy.

The protestors blocked the Srinagar-Leh highway in protest for hours this disrupting vehicular traffic.

“We have been facing so many problems due to non-issuance of Aadhaar cards as it has become mandatory now. However, the authorities are least concerned about our grievances,” they alleged.

“I have been coming here for past several days. Every day we are told that the employee is absent or the machine is not working,” said Mehraj ud din, a local.

Pertinently, people have been continuously protesting against the delay in aadhar enrollment in Kangan for past more than a week.
