Hurriyat (M) pays tribute to slain Sopore militants

Hurriyat Conference (M) Tuesday paid tributes to the Hizbul militants killed in an encounter at Shangergund in Sopore area of Baramulla district. The du was identified as Nayeem Ahmed of Brath Sopore and Pervaiz Ahmed of Handwara.

According to the statement issued here, Hurriyat (M) spokesman said that intransigence on the part of GoI is pushing the youth towards armed resistance.

He said keeping in view the sacrifices offered by the people of Kashmir especially youth, time demands steadfastness and unity among all sections of people of Kashmir and for achieving the final goal of right to self determination.

The spokesman condemned the continuous detention of Jamaat-e-Islami spokesman Advocate Zahid Ali. The spokesman alleged that Ali is being harassed in custody.

He also expressed his strong resentment and concern over the enforced disappearance of a youth at Lolab Kupwara at the hands of forces stating that the youth continues to remain missing from his home since past four days and his family is in a distress.

The spokesman said that establishing more army camps in Shopian district is a move aimed at turning the entire district into a military garrison and demanded that all the new camps be removed immediately. 

The spokesman said that under the garb of CASO now South Kashmir districts are being gradually converted into highest militarized zones and the local population is being left at the mercy of forces.

He said establishing more bunkers, camps and watchtowers in South Kashmir districts has made the life of people more difficult.
