Indian and Pakistani armies, Sunday, traded heavy fire  on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district.

“Heavy shelling and firing started between the two armies in Mendhar and Mankote areas, “ a Defense official said.

“After the Pakistan Army resorted to unprovoked shelling and firing at Indian positions, Indian military retaliated strongly and effectively,” an official said. “Shelling and firing exchanges are going on.”

Pertinently, a teenage girl was killed in Indian firing in Pakistani side of Poonch when the Indian army allegedly fired on the forward posts of Pakistan in Poonch sector along the Line of Control.

The five year old girl was playing in her courtyard when a bullet hit her. She lived in Polas village of Abbaspur sector in the southern Poonch district. Local residents rushed her to the nearest medical facility but she did not survive. Her death triggered massive protest against the local administration.
