The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara today convened a meeting of officers of Rural Development, Panchayat, Urban Development, Municipality and NRLM agencies to review the physical and financial progress under various schemes for the year 2016-17 and priorities for 2017-18  carried out by the different executing agencies so for in the district.

It was given out that under SBM Gramin 11800 works have been carried out in three blocks. It was revealed out of 13477 units provided, 3211 units were completed in the district at a cost of Rs 5.97 lakh, besides Rs 4.12 crore have been utilized on the construction work of 14 community sanitary complexes taken up in the district.

It was given out that out of 494 units under SBM Urban at Handwara the construction work 198 units stands completed while remaining construction is under progress. Besides, Rs 13.60 lakh are being utilized on construction of seven community sanitary complexes.

The DDC Kupwara impressed upon the executing and implementing partners for formulating the community committees for seeking suggestions to carry out the works plan under the ambit of guidelines of the schemes. He also directed the implementing agencies for seeking the funds from their higher-ups to carry out the new works for the community facilities.
