On JRL’s call, JKLF protests at Lal Chowk

Following the call given by Joint Resistance Leadership, Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Friday staged protest at Lal Chowk against the custodial killing of innocent Shahid Ahmad Mir of Handwara, tampering with state subject law and arrests, intimidations and threats of Indian agency NIA.

According to the statement issued here, the spokesman said that the leaders and activists of JKLF including Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Mushtaq Ajmal, Siraj ud din Mir, Muhammad Yasin Bhat, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Muhammad Sideeq Shah, professor Javed and others while holding placards portraying the photographs of martyrs and slogans against conspiracies against state subject law and NIA terrorism marched from Madeena Chowk to Budshah Chowk where a protest sit-in was observed.

Spokesman said that the protest rally was addressed by various leaders including Zonal president Noor Muhammad Kalwal who was leading the program.

Condemning the custodial killing of yet another innocent youth Shahid Ahmad Mir at Handwara, JKLF leaders said that ‘trigger happy’ Indian forces and police are enjoying immunity and have been given a free license to kill, maim ,injure and blind Kashmiris.

“Genocide of Kashmiris continues unabated and so does the shamelessness of so-called rulers who are only deployed to provide protection to these killers in uniform,” they said.

Terming the state subject law as ‘case of life and death for Kashmiri nation’, JKLF speakers said that Indian rulers in the garb of 35-A want to attack and finish state subject law which is directly linked to our right of self determination.

“Kashmiris will never shy away from even spilling their blood for safeguarding this law and a stiff resistance will be given to every nefarious and ill designs intended against the nation of Jammu Kashmir,” they said.

Speakers said that Indian leaders have unleashed a new terror in the name of NIA. “This agency is being used to defame resistance camp and harm resistance leaders and activists and only aim of this is to finish the resistance of Kashmiris. Intimidations and threats cannot defeat the valor of kashmiris who have resolved to strive for their freedom,” they said according to the statement.

Meanwhile, senior JKLF leader Zahoor Ahmad Butt along with Farooq Ahmad Jangali and Abdul Aziz reached Tarethpora Handwara and participated in a protest program held against the custodial killing of innocent Shahid Ahmad Mir.

While addressing the mourners and protesters, JKLF leader Zahoor Ahmad Butt said that killing of this innocent boy has yet again revealed the ugly face of Indian democracy in Jammu Kashmir.

He said that Indian forces are killing Kashmiris with impunity and pro-India politicians are providing these killers a legal cover.

While paying tributes to martyr Shahid Bashir, JKLF leader expressed solidarity with his bereaved family.

Meanwhile, JKLF condemned the slapping of PSA on its block president Sopore Gulzar Ahmad Baghwan who has been shifted to Kotbalwal jail Jammu.

JKLF also condemned the nocturnal raids on the residence of district president Kupwara Rafiq Ahmad War.
