Army vehicle attacked with rifle grenade in Sopore

Militants Friday late night fired a rifle grenade towards an army Casper at Hygam village of Sopore in Baramulla district of north Kashmir, repots said.

However there was no report of any injury in the attack, sources said.

According to sources, the militants targeted the Army vehicle in interiors of Hygam.

The area was cordoned off immediately and searches were launched, which ended later last night without any positive results for the security forces.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, an attack was carried out by militants on District Police Lines in South Kashmir’s Pulwama town that left a police constable dead. The attack was carried out in the pre-dawn hours today. Three CRPF troopers were also injured in the attack. The ensuing encounter was going on when the last reports were filled.
