Ram Rahim Verdict : Violent protests erupt in Punjab and Haryana

Violent protests have erupted in different parts of Haryana and Punjab after the CBI courts verdict on Ram Rahim case.

Earlier, Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh was found guilty of raping two ‘sadhvis’ (female followers) by the CBI court in Panchkula, Haryana. The quantum of the sentence will be announced on Monday, August 28.

As soon as the verdict was announced , hundreds of DSS chief supporters came out on roads protesting against the court verdict. The protesters set three Out Broadcasting  Vans on fire.

In Malout,  Railway Station and petrol pump has been set on fire by the violent protesters.

In order to control the mob , police has fired tear gas shells  & lathicharged the protesters.

In Sector 5 Panchkula  the crowd has  turned violent.

Police has fired live bullets in the air to disperse them.

Meanwhile , Punjab Chief Minister  has appealed the public to maintain peace & harmony in state.
