Lawyers stage protest against ‘attempts’ to abrogate Article 35-A
Amid growing controversy over the attempts to abrogate the Article 35A, the lawyers held a protest outside District Court Complex Mominabad Batamaloo to register protest against the attempts to abrogate Article 35-A.
The protesters were carrying placards and banners with messages like, ‘Save Article 35-A, Save Your Identity.’
Meanwhile, members of local Bar Associations in Anantnag and Kupwara Friday staged protests against the ‘scrapping of Article 35A’ reports said.
The lawyer’s body in Anantnag, led by its president Fayaz Saudagar, marched towards Lal Chowk from District Court complex to register their protest.
In Kupwara the lawyer’s body also held a protest march.
Pertinently, Joint Resistance Leadership had asked lawyers to peacefully protest against scrapping of the article.
