Factory worker dies, another injured

In an unusual incident a worker died while his colleague received critical injuries after the duo were accidentally caught in between a machine they were working with in Wussan Kangan ,officials said.

They said that a 22 year old Amir Ahmad Malik son of Ghulam Mohammad Malik resident of Lari Preng area of Kangan and 30 year old Bashir Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh resident of Kachnambal Kangan were working with a machine in a Tile factory at Chinner Wussan when accidently they were caught in between the belt and the machine resulting in Amir’ s on spot death while as Bashir Ahmad was critically injured.

Workers present said that Amir was badly crushed and both persons were immediately rushed to Trauma hospital Kangan where doctors declared Amir brought dead while as another seriously injured was referred to SKIMS Srinagar for further treatment.

Meanwhile, the relative of the youth along with hundreds of locals held a strong protest demonstration against the hospital administration.

The protesters said that only a single doctor was available in the hospital and alleged that their son died of medical negligence.

Soon after the protest demonstration ADC Ganderbal, Syed Shahnawaz Bukhari along with police and health officials rushed to the spot and assured the protesting persons that action will be taken against hospital authorities and after that they were pacified peacefully.

A senior Police Official while confirming the incident said that we have registered a case under FIR no. 67/2017 under section 304A RPC in this regard and have taken up further investigations .

Meanwhile, a health official said that Amir didn’t died of medical negligence but he was brought dead to the hospital .
