Police foil Freedom Party presser, arrest secretary general Moulana Tari

Police on Thursday foiled the scheduled press conference of the Democratic Freedom Party Office (DFP) at its Sanat Nagar headquarters and arrested party’s secretary general Moulana Abdullah Tari.

Pertinently, senior resistance leader and chairman DFP Shabir Ahmad Shah was on Wednesday attacked by inmates in Patiala Court police lockup. He was arrested on 25 July by ED in connection with the money laundering case.

A spokesperson og DFP in a statement issued here said,  “Shah is kept among notorious criminals in Delhi’s Tihar Jail where choicest abuses are showered upon him. He is also receiving life threats and denied every basic facility including medicines.”

Pertinently, party had called for a media briefing in this regard which has now been delayed due to police action.

While strongly condemning the police action said that the state administration is creating impediments in conveying the truth to people.
