Minister for effective coordination between departments for better service delivery

While calling the Revenue Department fountain head of Administration, Minister for Revenue, Disaster Management, Relief Rehabilitation & Reconstruction today asked the Revenue Officials to coordinate different departments for realization of  development goals of the government.

The Minister said while addressing a high level Divisional  Revenue Conference here. The meeting was also attended by Minister for state Revenue Sunil Kumar Sharma. Financial Commissioner Revenue Lokesh Jha, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Baseer Ahmed Khan,  Settlement Commissioner, Shahid Inayatullah, Commissioner Secretary Revenue Muhmmad Ashraf Mir, Deputy Commissioners, ADCs, SDMs and Tehsildar’s of Kashmir Division.

Veeri said that Revenue Officials have an important role to look after the  functioning of the different departments and implementation of various schemes envisaged to provide succor to the common man.

The Minister stressed on the officers to call for regular meetings of different departments supplemented by field visits to ensure smooth functioning of these departments on the expectations of the general public.

The Minister asked district administration to enhance public par taking by setting up various citizen councils for revamping public services delivery system

The Minister said that serving people is the top priority of the present dispensation. To ensure people do not face any inconvenience for getting their revenue related issued resolved, the Minister directed the concerned to ensure continuous presence of Patwaris in their respective Halqas.

For better revenue management, the Minister directed for framing of timeline for completion of Jamabandi at Tehsil level. Veeri impressed on the officers to fix the target of Jamabandi to every concerned Revenue official.

The Minister informed the meeting that for the first time Disaster Mitigation Fund has been created in every district and Rs 1 crore has been at the disposal of every District Development Commissioner to meet any eventuality in the area. He also asked the officers to formulate an inventory of all resources at Tehsil level which can aid in the mitigation of disasters.

The Revenue Minister also asked the officers to speed up the process of setting up Emergency Operation Centers in their respective areas.

While laying stress on the speedy completion of centrally sponsored Digitalization of land Records Modernization Programme (DLRMP) Veeri said that transparency and easy accessibility of land records would help in easy mapping of land assets for government and common man alike.

He also informed the conference that setting up of modern record room/ land record management systems would be put in place at every Tehsil headquarter.

Deputy Commissioners presented detailed picture of their districts in terms of functioning of Revenue Department, disaster management and  Digitalization of land Records Modernization Programme (DLRMP).
