JK Cements to open new outlets, setup a new plant as well: Yatoo

To get the government run cement factory on tracks, JK Cements Vice Chairman, Nazir Ahmad Yatoo today said that the company plans to open new outlets across the state to boost the sale of the cement in the Jammu and Kashmir. Yatoo also said that the company plans to set up a another cement producing factory in the state.

The company which is currently going through a rough phase of its 40-year existence has a liability of around 75 crores, is planning to boost the sales of its products in the state.

In an exclusive interview with the Kashmir Vision, Yatoo said that new outlets for cement distribution will start functioning very soon.

“We have 21 cement distributors across the state at present and we are thinking of opening up of new outlets across the state very soon,” he said.

Notably, under the new leadership of Nazir Ahmad Yatoo, JK Cements have shown the turnover of around 45 crores up to August 2017.

Meanwhile, to supply the new outlets in the market, the company has decided to setup a new plant in Khrew area of Pampora with a capacity of 1200 tonnes per day. Three cement producing factories were setup in 2010 which produce 300,300 and 600 tonnes of cement every day.

Speaking about the menace of pollution in the Khrew area, Yatoo said that due to pollution, the areas living near to the cement plants are getting affected.

“It is damaging their agricultural land and most people living in the area are suffering from bronchitis, but this problem too will be solved in the coming month,” said Yatoo

“Actually the warehouse bag that controls pollution is damaged but due to the personal efforts of Honorable CM Mehbooba Mufti and Tasaduq Hussain Mufti, new warehouse bags are being brought here that will control 90% of pollution,” he added.

Yatoo said that he is determinate to take the 40-year-old company out of the prolonged financial mess.
