Minister sets deadline for road projects in Suchetgarh

Minister for PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control Sham Lal Choudhary today set deadline for completion of vital road projects with direction to engineers of PWD (R&B) to expedite the works lying unattended for the last so many years.

The Minister issued these directions while addressing a review meeting of major roads being executed under NABARD and BADP in Suchetgarh.

Superintending Engineer, PWD(R&B) Dev Raj, Executive Engineer, PWD(R&B) Alok Mengi and other senior officers of the department were present in the meeting.

The Minister enquired about the status of various roads including main road leading to Chak Devangarh, Chakrohi to Pindi Sarochan, Chakrohi to Gharani, KK Road to Baspur, Dablehar to Sai KK, Road to Khurd Post, Chakrohi to Jora Farm, link roads to Gopad Basti, Nikkowal village, Biaspur Parlah, Kothey Rahiyan to Biaspur, Devigarh to Mulla Chak, Khepad to Jasore via Kalali Tibba, Badyal Brahmana to Derian, Maggowali to Nannowali, Sai to Tangowali Chowk, Baspur to Samka, and Biaspur bridge to Mulla Chak.

Stressing that the roads bring development and prosperity with them, the Minister said priority should be given to construction of roads in border areas so that people living there don’t face any difficulty in shifting to safer places at the time of exigency.

He further said the government’s commitment is to provide road connectivity to every part of the state for ensuring its socio-economic development. The department should work dedicatedly for hassle-free execution of works including construction, up-gradation and maintenance of roads, he added.

He further said the roads should be blacktopped with good quality material and all the pending works be completed in a stipulated time frame.
