The Jammu and Kashmir High court today ordered the authorities to seal the Batamaloo Bus stand.

According to the reports, a division bench of Chief Justice Badar Durrez Ahmad and Justice Ali Muhammad Magrey ordered vice chairman (VC) Srinagar Development Authority (SDA) to ensure that the Batamaloo Bus stand is sealed.

The directions came after RTO Kashmir, who was present, told the court that as of now notified Bus Stand under Motor Vehicles Act is at Parimpora and not Batamaloo.

“If the Bus stand is still operational at Batamaloo, it is illegal,” the court observed.

For sealing the Batamaloo Bus stand, the Court directed divisional commissioner Kashmir and IGP Kashmir to provide assistance for this purpose.

The court also directed VC SDA and Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) to ensure that scrap dealers and condemned vehicles outside Batamaloo Bus stand are removed so that there is free flow of traffic.
