Armyman, CRPF trooper succumbs

A CRPF trooper, who was injured in a grenade attack by militants in Budgam district has succumbed to injuries today, officials said.

The deceased identified as Constable Reyaz Ahmad died at SKIMS hospital in Soura this afternoon, they said.

Four forces’ personnel were injured in the attack on August 14, when suspected militants had hurled a grenade at a road opening party of CRPF and police at Batpora in Magam area, 20 kilometres from here, a police official said.

Lashkar-e-Toiba militant outfit had claimed the responsibility of the attack.

Meanwhile, an army soldier who was injured in ceasefire violations has succumbed to his injuries.

According to the sources, the Army soldier was identified as Havaldar Narendra Singh resident of Haripur, Dehradun.

The slain soldier was injured in ceasefire violation on 7th August in Uri sector in north Kashmir.
