Senior PDP Minister and government spokesman Nayeem Akhter said that his party (PDP) will not allow any tinkering with article 35 A, which governs property rights act in the state and article 370 granting special status to the state.

Chief Minister has been given assurances by none else than Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the meeting between the two leaders in the Prime Minister’s office two days back that no such move is under the consideration of the government.

Akther accused the opposition parties in the state of playing a drama over the issue.

“The Agenda of Alliance will be fully implemented and respected by the central government,” he said.

“Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has met the opposition leaders including National Conference President Farooq Abdullah, Congress leaders, top leaders of BJP, leaders of smaller regional parties in the state, Home Minister and finally the Prime Minister. Chief Minister has taken all necessary steps for protecting Article 35 A challenged in the Supreme Court through a petition and tinkering with article 35 A and article 370 won’t be allowed at any cost,” he added.

Claiming that Prime Minister has given complete assurance to Chief Minister on full protection of article 35 A and article 370 during her meeting with him at the Prime Minister’s office two day back the senior PDP Minister asked the opposition leaders to stop the drama which they, according to him, are playing on article 35 A.

He said that agenda of alliance (AoA) will be respected and fully implemented by the central government and there should not be even an iota of doubt in any body’s mind on this count.
