Commissioner Secretary ASH visits Poultry Project Hariparbhat

Commissioner Secretary, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, R K Bhagat, Sunday asked the Animal & Sheep Husbandry (ASH) Department to prepare Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for setting up of Hatchery and Feed Mill at Hariparbhat and submit the same at the earliest.

The instructions in this regard were issued by Commissioner Secretary ASH during his visit to the Poultry Project Hariparbhat today.

Director Animal Husbandry, while briefing the Commissioner Secretary about the functioning of the Unit, informed that the project has generated an amount of Rs 1.04 crore as revenue against sale of chicks, month-old birds, hatching eggs, table eggs and poultry meat during 2016-17.

The Commissioner also inspected the Feed Mill and took stock of its activities. He was informed that some 6400 quintals of feed manufactured during 2016-17 were distributed among the farmers.

It was also given out that the Department is providing medicine and equipments to private firms on the basis of no profit no loss.

It was said that the Department is also involved in imparting trainings in egg rearing.

Later, the Commissioner also visited the Institute of Animal Health and Biological Products at Zakura. The Commissioner asked the concerned to formulate a DPR for establishment of a laboratory at Institute and submit the same at the earliest.

While interacting with the employees of the department on the occasion, the Commissioner Secretary called on them to help spread awareness among general masses about poultry rearing and government schemes meant for the farming community.
