18 hour long cordon ends in Tral
The eighteen hour long cordon was lifted on Saturday morning in the Noor Pora village of Tral area, reports said.
Police sources said that the cordon and search operation was launched in the area on Friday afternoon by government forces after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in NoorPora village.
IGP, Kashmir Munir Khan while refuting the claims made my some news channels about Zakir Musa being trapped in the cordon, negated the news.
IGP, who took to twitter said,” I fail to understand who told the TV channels in Delhi about Zakir being in Noorpora.”
IGP Kashmir told this operation was not meant for Zakir.
Pertinently, after conducting door to door search operation, nothing suspicious was found in the area, which forced forces to call off the cordon.
Noor Pora is the native village of newly formed Ansar Gazwatul Hind chief Zakir Rashid Bhat popularly known as Zakir Moosa.
Clashes were reported yesterday, however cordon ended peacefully in the morning.
Meanwhile, clashes erupted between government forces and people mostly youth in Trichal village of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
Soon after the cordon youth took to streets and started pelting stones on forces who retaliated with tear smoke shells, triggering clashes.
Earlier cordon and search operation was launched in the area after receiving inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
Troops also arrested six youth after they pelted stones on them at Qoimoh area of Kulgam district on Saturday evening.
Sources said that the troops launched a CASO in the area after which youth started to pelt stones on the troops.
