Encounter starts in Shopian village
An encounter between militants and government forces started at Awneera village of Shopian district after forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
Sources said soon after forces cordoned off Awneera village, militants hiding in the area fired upon them triggered the encounter.
According to the reports, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
The firing was going on when the last reports came in.
