Arweena Encouter: One army man killed, four others injured
One Army man has been killed while four others injured in the ongoing encounter at Awneera village of Shopian district.
The encounter had started earlier between militants and government forces started at Awneera village of Shopian district after forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area.
Sources said soon after forces cordoned off Awneera village, militants hiding in the area fired upon them triggered the encounter.
According to the reports, two to three militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
The firing was going on when the last reports came in.
Meanwhile intense Clashes erupted at Awneera Shopian Near Encounter site, 7 injured so far, exchange of firing continues.
Meanwhile police has refuted the claims that the mosque at Shopian has been damaged in ongoing encounter.
“No damage to any mosque was caused in Shopian. Rumour mongers trying to vitiate the atmosphere.Action will be taken against such elements.” Police said.
