Awareness camp on GST held

District Administration, Ganderbal today organized awareness-cum-interactive session on Goods and Services Tax in coordination with Department of Commercial Taxes at DC office Complex Ganderbal under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal.

The DDC while interacting with stakeholders said that the aim of conducting this programme was to educate, orient and clear their apprehensions, doubts and genuine problems of business fraternity with regard to the implementation of GST in the State.

DDC requested the Commercial taxes department to organize more such camps at different places in the district for awareness among the business community about the new tax regime so that their business does not suffer.

Speaking on the occasion, Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal emphasized that there is requirement of putting continuous efforts in achieving 100 per cent registration of eligible dealers, traders and industrialists in District Ganderbal.

In order to spread awareness on GST which is one nation one tax reformative regime, the resource persons from the relative background spelt out the pros and cons of the new initiative in a marathon gathering in the conference Hall of Mini Secretariat Ganderbal. The resource persons from Commercial Tax’s Department presented a detailed PowerPoint presentation and all the aspects of new GST scheme were clearly deliberated upon and each query from the participants was satisfactorily addressed.

Around 300 local business persons, traders and industrialists of District Ganderbal participated in the event.

Among others Additional District Development Commissioner Ganderbal, N.A Baba, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ganderbal, , Chief Planning Officer Ganderbal, , Deputy Commissioner Commercial Tax, District Officers and DDO’s of all Sectors were also present on the occasion.
