Govt orders creation of new Revenue Village in Pulwama

The Government has ordered creation of new revenue village namely Lassidaban in district Pulwama.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Section-3 (1) (c) of the J&K Land Revenue Act Samvat-1996, sanction is hereby accorded to the carving out of a new estate (Revenue Village) namely Lassidaban out of the existing  villages Qasbayar and Ichgooz of Tehsil and District Pulwama,” an order issued by the Commissioner Secretary to the Government, Revenue Department said.

According to the order, the new revenue village comprises a total land area of 1431 kanals including 1150 kanals proprietary and 221 kanals Shamilat land besides Abadi-e-Deh.

“A separate Record of Rights shall be prepared for the new village,” the order said adding that the inhabitants of all the three villages namely  Lassidaban, Qasbayar and Ichgooz shall continue to have joint rights over the Kahcharai land and other common lands like pathways, roads, irrigation channels, springs, drinking water etc as were being enjoyed by them traditionally prior to the carving out of the new village.

The residents of Lassidaban while hailing the decision have expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti and the Finance Minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu, who is also the local MLA for the creation of the new village. They said the decision would go a long way in the focused socio-economic development of the village and its inhabitants who were otherwise neglected.
