Two devotees killed in Pulwama road accident

At least two devotees were killed and two others critically injured when a car they were travelling in skidded off the road near Abhama bridge in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on late Sunday evening.

“Four persons on the way to Pakherpora from Poonch district who were travelling in a maruti car bearing registration number JKO2J-2836 met with an accident at Abhama resulting in serious injuries to all of them.” a police official said.

”All the injured were shifted to nearby hospital where two among the injured persons have been declared brought dead by the doctors,” he added.

The deceased have been identified as Shah Nawaz Khanday S/O Abdul Aziz R/o Zrakan Pulwama and Mohammad Hanief S/o Jan Mohammad Kalas R/o Poonch and the injured persons as Shamim Khanday s/o Mohammad Akbar, R/o Zrakan, Pulwama and Rakin Deen R/o Poonch.

The injured were later referred to SMHS Srinagar for specialized treatment, the official said.

The persons travelling in the car were on their way to shrine of Hazrat Syed Ali Aali Balkhi (RA) Pakherpora for performing Shab Khwani, the officer said.
