National Conference President and Member of Parliament Farooq Abdullah today said that if article 35(A) is removed there will be a revolt in the valley.

“Don’t forget the Amarnath Yatra (attack), people rose overnight; this will be a far greater revolt,” he said.

Abdullah stated this during a meeting of the Opposition at his residence here in Srinagar, which was conveyed primarily to deliberate on the relevance of Article 35 (A), which provides special rights to permanent residents of the state.

Abdullah lashed out a PDP-BJP coalition for implementing the ‘agenda of RSS and BJP’.

“Agenda of BJP & RSS is to erode the autonomous structure of the state (J&K), that is what their plan is,” he said.

Abdullah also reminded Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti about the status of Article 35(A) and her statement about protection of the Article 35(A).

“CM (Mehbooba Mufti) has said she will quit the chair if 35A is removed, hope she stands by it,” He added.
