GST, NIA were forced with muscle, might: Hurriyat (G)

Refuting the statement made by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Hurriyat Conference (G) on Thursday said that the integration of disputed state with rest of India is never possible.

Earlier, Jaitley had said that the implementation of GST in JK marks economic integration of the state with the rest of India”.

According to the statement issued here, Hurriyat (G) spokesman said that the integration of disputed state with rest of India is never possible. “These measures are unacceptable and we will fight it tooth and nail,” he said.

He said that Indian authorities on one hand are involved in continuous bloodshed and on the other are employing services of NIA like agencies to muzzle genuine voices of pro-freedom people in state.

While criticizing the application of GST in the state, the spokesman said that both GST and NIA were forced with muscle and might.

The spokesman said that the business fraternity were badly affected by implementation of GST and added that authorities have virtually waged war on the people in Kashmir.

Hurriyat (G) assured all concerned quarters of its active support against these arbitrary laws and measures.

The spokesman blamed PDP for facilitating these laws and functioning of NIA like agencies and said, “The status of disputed nature of state can’t be altered by enforcing NIA, implementing GST, PSA, AFSPA and making people hostage on gun point.”

Hurriyat (G) said that Jammu Kashmir is not an issue related to development, instead a problem related to political future of 15 million people.

Hurriyat Conference in its statement added that Arun Jaitley and other policymakers of India better know that they can’t ignore the sentiments of people and shall have to acknowledge the aspiration of people.

Indian authorities through these measures are attempting to alter the demographic status of Jammu Kashmir, said Hurriyat.
