Minister tours Dooru, reviews pace of developmental works

Minister of State for Hajj & Auqaf, PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Power, Industries and Commerce, Syed Farooq Ahmad Andrabi today conducted extensive tour of Dooru Constituency and took stock of various ongoing developmental activities.

The Minister asked the executing agencies to gear up their field functionaries and speed up work on all developmental works and complete them in a stipulated time frame. He also directed them to ensure quality of works is not comprised with and stressed on judicious use of funds.

Interacting with the people at different places during the tour, the Minister said that the present Government led by Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti is committed to upgrade the living standard of the people especially weaker sections of the society. He said several initiatives are underway for improving, re-building and upgrading of basic infrastructure of all sectors with the aim to augment the existing infrastructure.

He said that Centre is providing sufficient funds to propel the development scenario in the State. He said that all the Departments have been asked to utilize the available funds and achieve the fixed targets in full.

Referring to the developmental works under execution in Dooru Constituency, the Minister said that the construction on several micro and macro projects are apace and on completion of these schemes it will help in improving the socio-economic conditions of the people of the area besides job opportunities to unemployed educated youth. He said the macadamization works on main and inner links of various road projects in the State have been taken up which he said would improve the surface connectivity in the Constituency.

During the visit, Auquaf Committee Dooru and Auquaf Committee Veerinag met the Minister and apprised him about the issues confronting them. The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into for their proper disposal.
