Man held for theft in Budgam, gold ornaments worth lakhs recovered

Budgam police today arrested a burglar from his residence at Beerwah, police said.

According to the police statement, the police has received various reports of burglary incidents in Beerwah area. Accordingly various cases were registered in Police Station Beerwah and the investigation was set into motion.

Police said that during the course of investigation, Budgam police zeroed upon one suspect namely Mushtaq Ahmad Shah son of Sona-ul-lah resident of Kanigund Beerwah. The suspect on being questioning confessed his crime. On his instance, gold ornaments worth rupees 03 lakhs were recovered from his residential house at Kanigund Beerwah, which he had stolen from Chewdara and Ohengam against which cases stand already registered in Police Station Beerwah on 11/12/2016 and 03/03/2017.  Further investigation of the case in going on and more recoveries are expected.
