Kulgam Encounter: Slain militants identified
Two militants who were killed in an ambush laid by government forces late last night in Kulgam district of south Kashmir have been identified, policesaid.
The slain militants belonged to Hizbul Mujahideen militant outfit were identified as Aaqib Itoo and Suhail Ahmad.
Itoo of Gopalpora and Ahmad of Tantraypora had joined militant ranks around eight and five months ago, police said.
Both the militants were killed after police and army laid a joint ambush in Gopalpora village of Damhal-Hanjipora area of the district.
Pertinently in a separate incident militants killed two army soldiers including an Army major in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
