Three killed, five injured in separate road accidents

Srinagar: Three people including two minors lost their lives while as five others were injured in separate road mishaps across Kashmir Valley, police sources said.
They said that a minor was crushed to death by a speedy truck at Khanmoh Panthachowk area of Srinagar Monday afternoon.
The deceased kid was an LKG class student who was identified as Inayat Ahmad Shah son of Mohammad Altaf Shah resident of Khanmoh. He died on the spot after the truck bearing registration number JK01A-5811 hit him in the area.
Following the incident, shopkeepers of the area pulled down their shutters and people blocked the Khanmoh-Srinagar road.
Meanwhile, Tehsildar along with Naib Tehsildar reached the spot to pacify the protesters.
In another incident in Duroo, a minor was killed and another injured in road accident early Monday morning at Duroo Zainageer area of north Kashmir’s Sopore town.
According to reports, a boy identified as Junaid Sultan son of Mohd Sultan Hajam , resident of Hardishiva, along with his brother were hit by a Santro car. They were moved to SDH Sopore for treatment, where Junaid was declared brought dead.
Hospital authorities at Sopore hospital confirmed the death of minor and said he was brought dead to hospital.
In Bijbehara, a mini bus bearing registration number JK03A 2861 turned turtle at national highway in Sangam area of south Kashmir’s Bijbehara, resulting in injuries to many passengers.
Three of the injured are said to be critical and were shifted to nearby hospital.
According to Police Statement, a motorcycle bearing registration number JK13A-4270 driven by Mohsin Ahmad Magray son of Abdul Rashid Magray resident of Shraie Tangmarg Sunday fell in a deep gorge while he was on his way from Drang to Tangmarg, Baramulla, resulting in his on spot death. Police, after completion of all medico-legal formalities Monday, handed over his body to his legal heirs for last rites. Baramulla police has registered a case in this regard.
An army vehicle turned turtle near Gund Dachina on Srinagar-Bandipora road on Monday in Bandipora district of Jammu and Kashmir.
An official said that Army vehicle of 27 RR unit stationed at Paribal Bandipora turned turtle in a paddy after driver lost control over the vehicle.
He said that the vehicle was on way to Bandipora from Srinagar when the mishap took place.
“No one was injured in the incident. However, traffic on Srinagar-Bandipora has been diverted via Aragam,” he said.
