Protests rock Kashmir University following militant, civilian killings

Following the killing of two militants and a civilian in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, massive protests have erupted in University of Kashmir campus in Srinagar on Tuesday afternoon.

Top Let commander Abu Dujana along with his associate were killed earlier today in a gunfight in Hakripora area of Pulwama district.

Sources said that hundreds of students are marching through the varsity campus.

Raising pro-Pakistan, Pro-Dujana and anti-India slogans the students are marching through various departments.

“Students are gathering and are preparing for absentia funeral prayers for the slain militants,” a student said.

Meanwhile, student protests have also erupted in many parts of Srinagar and other parts of the valley.

Authorities have ordered closure of all the schools across Kashmir fearing more protests.

Telecom companies have been directed to block the internet services including 2G, 3G and 4G till further orders in Kashmir.
