LC Panel discusses status of petitions

A meeting of the Committee on Petitions of Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Council was held here today under the Chairmanship of MLC, S. Charanjeet Singh to discuss and examine the petitions filed before the Committee.

Legislators, Surinder Mohan Ambardar and Muzaffar Ahmed Parray participated in the meeting and contributed their valuable views and suggestions on the functioning of the Committee and for early disposal of the petitions filed by various individuals.

The Committee took serious note for non compliance of its directions by the Divisional administration Jammu regarding compensation to the 2014 flood victims of Panchari, District Udhampur and sought intervention of Chief Secretary in the matter so that the victims are provided the necessary relief.

The issue of un-employed Agriculture Engineering Graduates was also discussed in detail and, the Committee called upon the Administrative Secretary Agriculture Department to furnish the requisite information expeditiously. The Committee also sought personal appearance of the Administrative Secretary Agriculture Department before the Committee along with relevant records to clear the stand of the Department on the issue.

The Committee also sought latest status report on the compensation of land and trees at Kargil district which is under the occupation of district administration Kargil. It was decided to call the Deputy Commissioner, Kargil and other concerned officers in the next meeting along-with relevant record to apprise the Committee about the action taken on the issue.

Senior officers of Council Secretariat were also present in the meeting.
