VC JKPCC inspects works in Rajouri

Vice Chairman Jammu & Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation (JKPCC), Sheikh Khalid Jehangir today inspected pace of various ongoing developmental projects of the Corporation in Rajouri district.

The Vice Chairman, who is on a 2-day day visit of Rajouri, interacted with officers of JKPCC who briefed him about progress and other related issues regarding the ongoing projects of the Corporation in the district.

During the inspection, the VC visited approved site for construction of proposed 160-meter long bridge from the main highway to Batala Mang.

He also inspected work underway on the construction of bridge from MES store to old town Nabban locality. He stressed on timely completion of the bridge so that people can be facilitated. 

On the occasion, Khalid Jehangir directed the officers to ensure that required formalities and procedures for the projects awaiting clearance from various quarters are completed at the earliest so that they are taken up and completed within the stipulated timeframe for the benefit of the people.

Later, he also visited the site of three different projects of JKPCC going on at Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University including Botany-Zoology block, Central library and Boys Hostel. The VC took a detailed stock of the projects and asked the officers to ensure that quality of the works is not compromised with. 

Concerned officers informed the Vice Chairman that delay in drawing availability from the University authorities is leading to delay in timely completion of the projects after which Jehangir asked JKPCC officials to take up the matter with concerned officers of BGSB University so that delay in providing drawing is avoided to ensure timely completion of the projects.

The Vice Chairman was informed that foundation stone of residential quarter complex of district hospital Rajouri was laid in 2014 and DPR of the same already stands submitted but the Health Department is yet to transfer the amount due to which project is facing inordinate delay. The Vice Chairman JKPCC said that he will take up the matter with Health Minister to ensure the provision of funds at the earliest so that residential quarters are completed on time.

Executive Engineer JKPCC Rajouri-Poonch Arshad Hussain Mir, senior officers of the Corporation and other concerned accompanied the Vice Chairman.
