Mirwaiz barred from addressing press conference in Srinagar
Authorities on Saturday thwarted a proposed news conference of Hurriyat (M) chief Mirwaiz Umar Farooq at his residence in Srinagar.
“As APHC Chairman Mirwaiz Mohammad Molvi Umar Farooq was supposed to address the Press Conference at 3:00 P.M. today on 29/07/2017, the authorities deployed the heavy contingent of forces to prevent Mirwaiz to address the press.” A spokesperson of Hurriyat (M) said.
No journalist was allowed as such to cover the event as the route leading to Mirwaiz’s Nageen residence has been completely sealed by barbed wires,” said the spokesman.
“Now the Press Conference will be addressed online through twitter/facebook. You are requested to be online at 4:30 P.M.” He said.
