The Army on Thursday  claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Gurez  sector of north Kashmir in Bandipora and killed three militants.

“A group of militants tried to infiltrate from across the border. They were challenged by the troops, following which three militants were killed,” said Srinagar based defence spokesman of Army Rajesh Kalia.

He said a group of 3-6 militants tried to sneak into this side of LoC last night.

“Army’s 13 Sikh regiment guarding the LoC near Bagtore area of Gurez noticed their movement. The militants opened fire after they were challenged. During the operation, three militants were killed,”

It may be recalled that it was the 12th time that Army has foiled the infiltration bid along the LoC in various sectors.
