Mysterious death of girl sparks protests in Pulwama village
Mysterious death of a 17 year old girl Insha Bashir Sofi of Ratnipora Pulwama on Friday, sparked protests in Ratnipora area of South Kashmir.
“When she reached home she was crying and she fell unconscious. We shifted her to hospital where doctors declared her dead.” a relative of deceased Insha said.
A police official said that the teenage girl died allegedly after being molested by a bank employee.
“We are investigating the case,” the official said.
Meanwhile police team headed by DySP HQ Farooq Ahamd reached the spot and is investigating the case.
A police official said that employee has been detained. Soon after the incident, people hit the streets and began protesting. Police lobbed tear gas shells to disperse the protesters.
