Friday prayers at the Jamia Masjid in downtown Srinagar were again disallowed for the sixth consecutive week.

All roads leading to the historic mosque were blocked with concertina wires, reports said

Curfew was imposed in parts of Downtown Srinagar to prevent people from assembling at the mosque.

Pertinently, Joint Resistance Leadership has called for “peaceful protests” after prayers today against the ruling of a military court in Machhil fake encounter case and “persecution” of resistance groups by the government.
