Army patrol attacked by militants in Bandipora

Suspected militants on Monday night attacked an army patrol in Ajas area of Bandipora district in north Kashmir, sources said.

According to the sources said army patrol party of 13 RR was attacked near the main market late in the night.

Suspected militants travelling in a Sumo fired 10-15 rounds on the patrolling party,” they said. The gunmen fled after carrying out the attack.

In retaliation army men also fired but there was no report of any injuries, police sources said.

They said that the vehicle in which militants were travelling was seized during the search operation.

“A grenade, some caps and a pouch has been recovered,” police said.
