Beerwah shuts to mourn killing of youth

Following the killing of a youth namely Tanveer Ahmad in Beerwah Budgam on Friday, a complete shutdown is being observed in Beerwah and its adjoining area today.

Consequently, authorities have put in place stringent measures to foil any protests in the area.

Tanveer- a tailor by profession, was killed in army firing on Friday. He was hit by bullet fired by Army soldiers during a mild stone pelting incident in the town, locals said.

Soon after the incident , authorities had put restrictions in place to thwart any possible protests. Today is the fourth straight day of shutdown against the killing.

All shops, business establishments and educational institutions in Beerwah and adjoining areas are closed.
