Expressing deep grief over the killing of a youth Tanveer Ahmad of Beerwah, Budgam, by government forces, the Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) on Saturday reiterated its appeal to the world community and United Nations to take notice of India’s ‘state-sponsored oppression’ in Kashmir.

A delegation of DFP also visited Tanveer’s residence to express condolence with the bereaved family, DPF spokesperson said in a statement issued here.

DFP chairperson Shabir Shah also had a telephonic conversation with the bereaved family.

Shah said, “India is hell bent on suppressing our freedom movement by resorting to military might but is destined to get failed.”

While paying rich tributes to all ‘martyrs’ Shah said, ”Kashmir is a political issue and needs to be resolved politically.”

Pertinently, Tanveer was killed and several others injured when forces fired upon people in Beerwah who were protesting against the forces’ ‘atrocities’ on Friday.
