Clashes erupt in Beerwah; Internet services snapped
Clashes have erupted between protesters and government forces in Beerwah town of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Saturday.
Following the killing of youth namely Tanveer Ahmad in Beerwah Budgam yesterday in army firing, scores of youth today took to streets and tried to march towards the martyrs graveyard where the slain youth was buried.
Sources said, forces deployed in the area resorted to tear smoke shelling to disperse the protesters, triggering clashes.
Authorities had yesterday snapped the internet services as a ‘precautionary measure’ in the area and continued to remain suspended on the second consecutive day today.
