Beerwah shuts to protest youth’s killing in army firing

Following the killing of a youth in Beerwah yesterday, a complete shutdown is being observed in Beerwah town and adjoining areas in central Kashmir’s Budgam district today.

All shops and other business establishments are closed in Beerwah town, Khag and Aripanthan areas to mourn the death of Tanveer Ahmad Pala who was killed and another injured in a targeted killing by the Indian army yesterday.

Tanveer Ahmad Pala, was critically injured after he was hit by a bullet in his head. A tailor by profession, he was rushed to the  PHC Gondipora where he succumbed. Following the incident fierce  protests  had erupted in the area .

Consequently, police lodged an FIR against army.

Authorities have imposed restrictions and sealed all entry and exit points of Beerwah town to prevent protests against Tanveer’s killing.
