Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairman Yasin Malik was detained on Friday after he tried to march towards the UN office in Sonwar.

According to the sources, policemen detained Malik after he came out of Buchwara Jamia Masjid after offering congregational Friday prayers.

Malik had gone into hiding to prevent his arrest since yesterday morning. Last evening, police had raided his Abi Guzar office to arrest him.

Joint Resistance Leadership had called for a march to the UN office today to stage a peaceful sit-in against the recent civilian killings and rights violations in Kashmir.
