The Auqaaf committee of Khankha-e-Moula Thursday said that the government has failed to keep its promise of providing Rs one crore for the development of the shrine.

Talking to Kashmir Vision, president of Auqaaf comiitte said, “During the tenure of Late Mohammad Mufti Sayeed, we have been informed that one crore has been sanctioned for the development and betterment of Khankha-e-Moula shrine. The tourism department started work and assured us to complete it as soon as possible but the work was halted due to the 2016 turmoil in the Valley.”

He said that since then the government has failed to resume the work of the shrine. “We were informed that the work will be started once the situation will return normal, but almost a year has passed, the work is yet to be started,” he said.

The committee and the locals said that the authorities so far made several promises but unfortunately failed to keep their promises.

Meanwhile, the Auqaaf committee of Khankha-e-Moula Sopore appealed Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to look into the matter and fulfill the promise of Late Mohammad Mufti Sayeed at earliest.
