To ensure basic facilities in government schools, a meeting of concerned officers was held under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner here today.

The meeting was attended by CPO, concerned Superintending Engineers (SEs), CEO, CMO, ZEOs and other concerned.

The DDC took stock of progress made on various under-construction school buildings taken up under RMSA in the district. He asked the officers to speed up the pace of work on these school buildings and ensure their completion within the fixed time frame.

The DDC directed the concerned to furnish a list of those schools which are without regular power, water supply and proper road connectivity so that such basic amenities can be provided to these schools. He said that those schools having science laboratory will be provided these facilities in the first phase.

The DDC said the construction work on 470 class rooms in the district remained held up since the year 2010 due to several reasons, but 140 such classrooms were completed last year.

The DDC impressed upon the officers to ensure all the basic facilities including drinking water, electricity and road facilities in all four KGBVs in the district which are also being used for residential purposes.
